I am looking for a very cheap host to host a personal website. I have been searching forums and looking through pages that list hosts and what not, but I have been unable to find a host. If anyone has any advice it would be great. I am looking for....
-Atleast 50 megs of space....
-A decent amount of transfer of hits
-Control panel
-Most of the standard options such as ....
-CGI
-Subdomain (Doesn't have to have this)
-E-mail, POP3 and web
I don't need a lot of bells and whistles I just want to setup my own personal site. I would also like to have enough transfer space for a webcam. I am looking to pay under $10 a month and I don't have a domain name yet, but I will either buy one or go to a host that offers one for free. Here are a few I have been looking at........

http://hosting.mymarkdown.com/prices/index.html <---Express
http://successfulhosting.com/plans/starter.php#
http://www.2mhost.com/2m/special.2m
The two that I like the most are the last three of the four. Has anyone heard anything about any of these places or does anyone recommend anywhere? All advice is welcome. I have decent computer skills so I think most any place would be okay for me.
Thanks

Nobody's heard of many new hosts simply because they've just been created in the last 6 months or less. Of those you've mentioned, I'd go with 2mhost simply because they have a superior website and nice features you may use in the future...:classic2:

Of the four mentioned, I would only recommend worldzonepro, mainly because they have been around a long time and I know they are very reliable because I have two accounts with them.
I haven't heard of the other three apart from 2mhost and that's only because of zoobie mentioning them on a couple of occasions because he likes the site design :p

Hosts may NOT respond to general questions posted by members who are looking for advice/opinions/suggestions/recommendations on which host to choose.

Hey zoobie, seeing that you are so impressed with their cheap prices and fantastic webdesign, why not give them a try, so at least someone has some inside knowledge of their service?
<edit>But it may pay to read the terms if you do:
http://www.2mhost.com/2m/terms.2m
Unlimited Bandwidth:
2MHost Inc. allows unlimited bandwidth for all sites, except for those that:
Run any type of Real Media files, including .ra, .ram, .rm, .mp3, .mov, and .avi files.
Offer any type or size of downloads including .exe files, .zip (or any other compressed files) and .pdf files.
Operate any type of chat, web cams, forum, irc or similar programs.
Allow visitors to upload files. For sites meeting these conditions, 2MHost Inc. promises to deliver truly unlimited bandwidth.
If your site cannot meet all of the conditions listed above, 2MHost Inc. will allow 2.5GB free bandwidth per month and charge $4.00 for each GB above the 2.5GB limit.

Yes...Their terms are very complete unlike others and charging a bit extra for huge files only makes sense.
I actually would give 2mhost a shot except I need several domains and SSL. I found 2 hosts with 5 domains allowed and SSL for $2-2.50 a month that I may gamble on. :D

Heh, that's funny. Choosing a host based on it's design. A host can either spend it's time and money building up their own site....or using that time and money working with their clients. I guess I will have to hire a design company to rebuild our site if that's the going mentality. Till now, as far as design goes, I was just going off the popular phrase "Keep it simple stupid".
No, I dont need any design offers. Not unless you can do something like this::: http://balthaser.com/b1/home.html

Webdude I could do the flash intro part of that site, but it will take me a long time to get the adminations with the music. And no I won't do it for free.
Also it looks like some one is tring to make money off of us.

That's not too hard to do.

If I were to pay an outside design firm, it wouldnt be cheap. We have the money, that's not my concern. Simply too many horror stories about things not being completed, designs not the way you had wanted, etc, etc. Then there's the issue with needed changes in the future and all that mess. So I would be apt to want a great intro movie that people can see by clicking the link for it, but have the actual site in all html so as to have the greatest compatibility with everyone's browsers and settings.
Just figure this....a site designed by Balthaser is $10,000+ last I talked to them.. I dont think I need it quite "that" bad

I'd design you a website if I could. :p
