bandwidth is how fast (slow) everything will travel over the wire.
traffic is how much data is transfered from and to the server hosting your page.
If your site is already up somewhere and you have an idea of the number of hits (people visiting) you get each month then you can make a guess from that.
If your site fits in the 5Mb you requested then 1-2Gb/month at most should be more then enough I think.

My point was... the number of free hosts is limited as it is... if you're looking for more then you actually need you're going to exclude some good ones that would host you just fine while you otherwise have the chance of ending up with one that can't deliver what they promise.

right , a Webhost company sets up its servers , pays all the money for the system/software then pays for a connecting ... offers free webhosting with no ads, puts cgi-bin in every account ... then at the end of the month .. th bills drop thru the door .. so the Admin cuts off the power for his servers and shuts down.

Basically thats what happens to most AD-FREE HOSTS, they offer something for FREE and don't no income from it, just outgoings.

So if there a host with banners and pop-ups these people will probably stay around longer than the BANNER/ADD Free free webhosts.

Also, if there is a host that offers unlimted space , bandwidth and mysql,php,asp,python,perl ... it will probably die due to abuse if there is no banners/ads on the server to pay for new hardware.

Don't expect a CGI-Bin with unlimited amount of bandwidth...wow...the abuse it would receive. Fairmount would probably suit you more. :wink2:
