Why does it.. as you put it... "sucks" ?

Many other free web hosts are like that... It's another way of paying for the service, you use their ISP, whilst they serve you the goods for hosting.

It does suck if you live outside of the UK, like the US, and have to make a long-distance phone call to use the FTP.

Uhmm... it's probably aimed at people who need hosting in the UK and not for anyone else outside? Isn't this another restriction to maintain the survival of a host?

No one said you have to use it... so I guess it does not suck...

It's just like me saying, a host sucks - because it's a chinese free host and I don't understand it.
