Hi all,

I would appreciate your comments on my personal site. I'm still working on the content part of it but I think it's about ready for a critique.

It's a bit small for 1280 x 1024.

I suspect that you are working from a smaller screen.
I have the same problem, but I do have access to a large screen. What looks good or even crowded on a small screen can look empty on a large screen. See if you can take a look at your site on a large screen. (Maby from a library)

Once there is enough content, the left column is a waste of screen space. "Weight Loss 101" is an example of this. You might consider using frames.

It is a nice clean look. But on a narrow screen it looks lonely. Using percentages rather than absolute width ( <table width=X%> ) might help fill things out.

I will take a look at the possibility of resizing my tables, or perhaps using a percentage. I actually have a 19" monitor but I have it set to 1024 x 768. I tested it on a larger resolution and it does look a bit on the small side. Thanks all, that's what I was looking for :).

I'm wondering what you all think of the layout/design part of it - I've thought about just using a pulldown menubar at the top. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
David

The effect is cool, but I think it will only work with IE.

I was wondering if someone knows of a menubar, similar to Microsofts, that will still work when JS is turned off, but act as a simple link, rather then not showing up at all. Some of the ones I've seen, like at dynamic drive are ok, but will only work with a dhtml enabled browser. I've seen one like that before, but can't remember where it was.

Thanks,
David
