Those long sleepless nights weren't spent on these forums. They were spent on studying for my numerous French tests...

Gee, you even study? I get about 55% and I don't study. And you are proud of this 55%? That's barely passing! With this act you call studying, I haven't gotten less than 97% on a French test yet...

Thats what i like about languages- people think you suck if you cant speak properly. It pays to learn them right!

i take french too, but i dont study. I speak it lots.

Coolin
April 7th, 2001, 02:06
Yes, speaking another language is the best way to learn it. But studying it allows you to know more about the language before you actually jump in and speak it lots.

You can choose if you want to learn German. English and french you get. So that would make me only trylingual.

Coolin
April 7th, 2001, 14:12
Trylingual? I'm sure you do try very hard to learn all those languages, but I believe you are trilingual. ;)

Failing point is same here as with keith, it's 60% and under. I have never really failed any subjects, but I have come close many times. :p

Hey, I'm quadlingual too! I speak American-English, English, Cyber-English, and English. :D

I learned French, Spanish, and German before (elementary), but all that was taught were some numbers and daily life things like "bread" etc. Well, we went further with German, started teaching simple sentences.

I've forgotten everything by now. The only thing I remember now is "un, do, twa" (French?) "uno, dos..." (Spanish) and "uber"-whatnot (German). :D

Know what I love about Japanese? All you have to do is memorize the 50+ characters and how to pronounce them, and you can read Japanese! (even though you don't have a clue as to what you're saying ;))

Isn't the word multilingual once you are speaking over 2 languages. As for me(in Canada), I know quite a bit of french as well. Any other languages are just...foreign. Last spring I went to Belgium, Netherlands, and England. I thought it was cool that even McDonald's workers in Netherlands and Belgium could speak at least four or five languages. But when you get to England, they only speak one very humouros tongue that we all love so dearly...

Russian is similar. i learned some in ireland before i went to belarus.
