If you want Adult, that says PAY ACCOUNT right there.
There are very few hosts that are going to allow you
to post Adult content on a FREE account and of those
that do, you really wouldn't want those accounts ...

The next thing that nails you is the bandwidth you
are talking about. Even the so-called "unlimited"
bandwidth hosts are going to tell you where to take
that in not-so-kind words.

Looking at the whole big picture, you need a PAY HOST.
Don't waste your time looking for any FREE HOST.

Firstly, Lycos offers 5 GB of transfer, not 20. Plus, they're racist against Chinese people - you wouldn't be able to signup.

There are so many paid hosts out there that will allow adult sites for less than $120 a year. I think that is a reasonable price to pay for a site with so much transfer.

There are literally thousands of adult hosts out there. Most offer more than 20Mb Space, and most have no stated bandwidth limits. Surprisingly enough, i've never had an account cancelled, even when I was doing 30+GB/month.

PHP, on the other hand will be difficult to find in an addult host. www.coolfreehost.com has it, but thats all that I can think of.

What sort of script(s) are you planning on running?

They haven't blocked signups - they've only blocked FTP for Asian users.

Well... there is no alternative then is there? A site so big shouldn't be on a free host, especially adult websites. If he has a few loyal visitors who enjoy the chinese adult material then surely they would be able to donate a few $$$.

It's cheaper than it's ever been before, but I agree that hosting a huge adult site is hard for free. It's hard when its paid too.

If you're bent on using a free host, tom, then I suggest finding a way to run your site without PHP.

Sign up for a few accounts at different hosts and spread your site out over them. This lowers the load that you put on any one free account. It also makes it so you dont lose your whole site if a free host cancels your account.

The other option is to get a small paid account and start your site over. Start it small and efficient, but use good content. THere are several options for making money, but unfortuantely for you, many of the best ones don't seem to support users outside of north america and europe.

you're right, he probably isnt. I like the idea of profiting off of someone elses work (when it comes to por, anyway) and I've done it before. The copyright police seem to shy away from porn.
Strangely enough I've actually had adult sites come to me to promote their material and get it out there. mutually beneficial :)
