technically Fuzzylogic is right: a small "b" means bits and a big "B" means bytes. so 1Mbps is 1024 kb/s, but its not 1024 kB/s.


I cant gaurantee a correct answer but I'll try my hand at it.

8 bits = 1 byte.

so

1000000 bits = 125000 bytes (1000000/8)

1 kilobyte = 1024 bytes.

so

125000 bytes = 122.07 kilobytes (125000/1024)

1 Mbps = 122.07 kB/s

It's actually 128 kB/s.

The 1,000,000 bits is where you went wrong. The rest of your math would be correct though.

1 Mbit = 1024 kbit = 1,049,000 bits

So 1,049,000 / 8 = 131,125 bytes

131,125 / 1024 = 128 kB/s.

Most wireless networks are now 2.4ghz(22mbps).

But 1mbps is fine.
