Network problems

I just finished installing the drivers of my pcmcia card on my laptop. It asked me to reboot, ok.

I check network, perfect, both laptops are synched.

However I notice that my msn messager is offline.
I try to reconnect, dosnt work. I try a website, cannot find server.
Humm...

Device manager, network adapters, webstar usb modem,
yellow ! besides it....
Double click, "this device is either not present or not responding"

Ok, but it worked fine before I install the wireless pcmcia...
Reboot, take out pcmcia card, and ... modem is fine.
Reboot, put back pcmcia card, modem is not fine, take out card, modem is fine...

What can be done here?

Wrong forum...

I guess your computer got mixed up in what drivers to use. The old one or the new ones.


That's why it's recommended that you first uninstall any previous drivers that you had installed before attempting a new one.
Especially with Windows 98.

What old drivers are you talking about?
I didnt have the pcmcia card installed before.

What do you recommend now?

Well how did you connect to your cable modem then?

At first I was using it with my ethernet card. But since the card is a Type3 card (takes both pcmcia slots), I had to connect my modem some other way to make place for the wireless card.

I can connect my modem via ethernet or usb, it has both ports.

I tried to make something work, but nop, dosnt work :(

Even my network neighboorhood shows only "entire network" and nothing else.

What exact client/adapter/protocol/service do I need to install?
