In other words, it sounds pretty new.

You can take a shot at it and find out, then come back here and tell us all the results.

You might want to look at these reviews at hostsearch.
http://www.hostsearch.com/showcomment.asp?Companycode=2694

I think that is the same company.

actually there's a guy over at the webhostdir forums who's just signed up with them. Personally I'm pretty skeptical of those sort of offers, but he seems happy so far (it's only been a day or two, so far though).

I had a look through their site for him, and I thought there was a few odd things mentioned (such as they host 400 000 websites I believe the number was).

I don't know, they just smell fishy to me..

They have a Linux package coming up.
Check their Forums. If I get it right they have been in a lot of trouble but now everyone is religiously enthusiastic. Even the users seem odd. Fishy-fishy.

I send them emails.

No reply.

I would not go with them.

-and just how many drives would one have to stack to achieve 'unlimited' ? I think the issue is the wording... it makes my skin crawl (and I'd personally never pick a host that uses that word in relation to how much trnasfer or space you get).

Let says you got 40GB of information... would that be allowable?

Haze

I've lurked at the TacidBlue forum the latest week. There is only one word for it - confusion! They have added a UNIX account now. I *think* they no longer support more than one doamain/account. I'm not sure. Nobody there is shore about anything :D

Seen the http://www.tacidhost.com site? Looks like donhost just killed off their Linux plans. I personally think if you go with this hosting company you're going to be a pretty unhappy person most of the time, if quality services is your thing... :)

*lol* The users fault, eh?
I could have been interested in the 5 domain deal even if they looked crappy. Was thinking one could use a place like that as kind of nursery. If a site is biginning to work - zoooom - off it goes to a real host. :D:D

I guess they mean mad space but lets take Xoom(NCBI), do they got unlimited space or just something like 40 gigs till they have to add another server if that ---- runs out of space?

if the have unl. HD's it would mean they it takes unl. times to lookup something on the HD ... so those hosts are unl. slow .... don't take them ...

I haven't been able to get to their site for about a month now. I'm guessing they went under.

They aren't down. http://www.tacidhost.com/
But they have closed their board at http://www.tacidhost.net/ Used to go there for a laugh. Guessed they closed it because all the complaints meant bad advertising.

http://www.tacidhost.com/host/upgrades.shtml says the ControlPanel is $12. So you have to pay $ 20+12? Also it looks like you have to use Win for the CPanel?

I geuss they could offer unlimmited space as long as they keep adding new hard drives befor the current hard drive ran out of space

but thats not going to be able to support quality

Their unlimited Win 2k plan is with fasthosts.com
tacidblue is just a reseller of fasthosts.com

for UNIX plan, I think they are the reseller of apollohosting.com

I was one of their members before. I am now a reseller of don host. I left there because their support is extremly poor~

BTW how do they manage to ---- up so big when they are only reselling? Quite an achievement. That Chang guy doesn't seem trustworthy at all.

IMHO, i wud never trust someone with my webhosting who is lying or using questionable biz practices right from the begining. Anybody with a little commonsense wud know there is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth and unlimited web space. If that was really the case, Yahoo would be too happy to switch over to them !

Tacid is legit. you will get what they offer. I know one of my friends site that is hosted with them www.lifesnotpeachy.net and she has them forever it seems. Just look around online to see who has them. Also her site loads very fast!
