View Full Version : Do you think 17.95$ a year is reasonable for a domain name?

It will include services like free webspace and free email services + DNS and/or forwarding.

Depends on your market. Many people still pay $35/yr. to NetSol or Register.com and they also pay $100's for those services through those companies.

I can tell you now it won't be a huge success.
We launched something similar about six weeks ago and in spite of promoting it the same as our standard domain reg service it has had about 5 sign ups.
People still seem very keen on redirection rather than having a small amount of real web space.

Thats why i want to include both options =)
I am currently running a redirector service, so i guess i know what the demand for that is =)

There's a few hosts that will host domains free for you plus the stuff ppl would want, like lots of space, CGI, SSI, PHP... etc. Even if there isn't a suitable one, there's always mydomain.com... so unless you're offering lots of good features in your $17.95 package, you prolly won't get much users.
