Be reasonable.

We will start a new service in a few weeks, system will allready support php, mysql and cgi. I am thinking 25 megs per user. That should be more than sufficient.

Advertising we be optional to have on page, or you will have the option to sign up and use our affiliate programs to get rid of any ads.

If you do not want to have to be forced to do anything, pricing will start from 4.95$ a month.

i need my sql support, at least 200 megs, at least 5 or 6 Gigs Data Transfer & Hits, Unlimited E-Mail Accounts, mailing list, Personal CGI-BIN, Super Fast Servers!, 24/7 FTP Access, Online Control Panel
about $4-8 a month planing to pay for a year ahead of course... im planing to have a message board, having a photo gallery thats about it...

here is what i want in a free host:

For it to stay up longer than 3 months. Oh, ftp access would be good to.

Why only 3 months? Why not a year or more like f2s.com?

Think positive and think big guys!!!!

4 important things:

Fast fast fast
More than 1 gig/month bandwidth
No ads
MySQl database

Less important but sweet:

FTP access
About 25 MB is good enough.

But then....I guess I am still in dream land or never-never land for such features. :)

It's already mentioned, but I'd like to say it again.

Besides PHP, CGI and MySQL, I need:
Fast servers!
FTP access! (unlike Crosswinds')
SSI!
At *LEAST* 3GB transfer a month!
Free domain hosting!

That's all I'm asking of a fwp... :p

Have all the current features of f2s.com MINUS the SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW speed! (I am speaking from someone who resides in the USA)

If you have all those lovely features... I wonder if all the lovely people that want all these lovely features... will accept that it would probably be necessary to have lovely pop ups... if they want the free host to stay around more than a day or two...

i have realized that my cgi-scripts slower on f2s than on virtualave(didnt find proper answer why?)
but other things seem to be fast!

Ok guys, this is going to be swell, thanks for all your input. We will not use pop ups, we will require you to put a search box anywhere on your main page and only let you use our affiliate programs if you ever need one + make you sign up with a few newsletters. I am sure you understand that we do have to get some income out of this and pay for bandwidth and servers.

This will NOT be a project to be hosted in a home at DSL. We have our own dedicated servers at a ISP in USA. So, yes, it will be speedy in America. Probably outside too.

Donīt worry we will stay online, we have stayed alive for years so far.. with our redirect services =) And they are banner free.
