I have never installed VB but This is usually what you do:
Create a database (ex vbuliten)
Database location: localhost
database user: USERNAME
database password: PASSWORD
database: vbuliten

sometimes people make mistakes with that information.

sometimes your host adds a prefix to your database names and database usernames, like my domain is cmn.cc and when I go to make database's or database users, it renames them with the prefix "cmn_", like "cmn_mydatabase" and "cmn_myusername"

Also, you might still have to add the user to the database so that user can use it.

Might not be this way for you, but thats my regular routine when I go to make databases's with my host (I'm on cpanel). :)
