What is your favorite FTP Client...Nick November 12th, 2000, 08:33 LeapFTP is my favorite. Robert November 12th, 2000, 09:10 My favorite FTP program has to be WS_FTP Pro. The LE version is okay but the Pro version is really good! I'm not sure about other FTP programs, but WS_FTP Pro allows you to delete folders with stuff inside of them already, just one click and it opens each folder and delets the stuff inside.. saves a me a lot of time! -Rob Zef Hemel November 12th, 2000, 09:47 WS_FTP 5 LE Koolguy November 12th, 2000, 13:03 I use AceFTP, kinda sucks but gets the job done. KapTinKiRk November 12th, 2000, 13:10 CuteFTP 4.0 I've been using CuteFTP for a little over a year. Before that I used WS_FTP LE, which is also really good. jvv November 12th, 2000, 13:43 Bulletproof FTP all the way... I used Cute FTP, WS_FTP (both LE and pro), but now I stick to bulletproof. Don't ask me why, I just think it's great :) Koolguy November 12th, 2000, 13:46 Anybody ever try using the DOS prompt ftp coomand? Lol, it's not something you will use for long. jvv November 12th, 2000, 16:35 You got that right... I tried it once... even getting connected to the ftp server was a b*tch. ducktape November 12th, 2000, 18:51 I use Leech FTP for windows its a very good program for uploading and downloading. I used to use Coffee Cup and it was good until I found this one. I have a able connection so i downloaded all the FTp progrms I could find at hotfiles.com and download.com and this is the best I found Tater November 12th, 2000, 19:07 I use Cute FTP. Peace. Koolguy November 12th, 2000, 22:06 Originally posted by jvv You got that right... I tried it once... even getting connected to the ftp server was a b*tch. The best I ever did was rename a file. Mandrake November 12th, 2000, 22:28 Originally posted by Koolguy Anybody ever try using the DOS prompt ftp coomand? Lol, it's not something you will use for long. I use it at work... FTP programs don't seem to work well there. :( Mandrake November 12th, 2000, 22:29 CuteFTP 1.8 Jerry November 12th, 2000, 23:21 cuteftp 4.0 i've been using cuteftp since 1.0.. i've gotten every new version since.. cleggo November 12th, 2000, 23:31 I use WS_FTP Pro 6.0 never used anything but WS_FTP and WS_FTP Pro before, I like it lots and lots. :o) Mandrake November 13th, 2000, 09:30 Originally posted by Jerry cuteftp 4.0 i've been using cuteftp since 1.0.. i've gotten every new version since.. I didn't even know they were up to 4.0... I got 1.8 2 or 3 years ago and have liked it so much I have never looked for anything else. :) HumanClay November 13th, 2000, 14:37 I use WS_FTP LE or Pro... don't remember which one I have on my home PC :) I have never used anything but WS_FTP at home. Right now I'm on a school Mac and they have Fetch FTP. Boy does that program suck IMO. AND1 November 13th, 2000, 19:12 CuteFTP for maintaining websites! and SmartFTP for browsing servers because it could see hidden directories! Pretty neat! puDDs November 17th, 2000, 11:07 Man, more of you should check out BulletProof FTP. Its by far the best of the bunch....upload/download queues, resumed upload/downloads, scheduled connects/disconnects...you just can't beat it... }:8) Supermoo November 17th, 2000, 17:27 WS_FTP LE It's free and I've been using WS_FTP for years. Nick November 17th, 2000, 19:00 Originally posted by puDDs Man, more of you should check out BulletProof FTP. Its by far the best of the bunch....upload/download queues, resumed upload/downloads, scheduled connects/disconnects...you just can't beat it... I have every single FTP program that people have posted here and I know that BulletProof FTP bows down and gravels at the feat of LeapFTP. LeapFTP has all those features, it uses server comands to stay connected untill YOU disconnect (no 200 second timeouts! Yay!), plus much, much more. javapie November 17th, 2000, 19:32 I use cute FTP. It is pretty good. Any one know of a better program, For SSH then Secure CRT? Thanks Scott Christy November 17th, 2000, 19:34 I don't know about a favorite because I have only used one...WS_FTP Chicken November 17th, 2000, 23:59 Stupid, pointless WS_FTP tip (that everyone probably already knows): On the 'Startup' tab (when you have the connect box up), enter '-a' in the bottom 'Remote file mask:' area to see hidden server files. Alternatively, if you've already connected, just type '-a' in the white space below the 'MkDir' button (part of the vertical row of buttons on the right side of the window). puDDs November 18th, 2000, 23:15 Originally posted by Nick I have every single FTP program that people have posted here and I know that BulletProof FTP bows down and gravels at the feat of LeapFTP. DogFood December 2nd, 2000, 18:49 Use WS_FTP6.6 Pro, have always used WS_FTP, and always loved it. Didn't know bout that -a thing tho. Hobbes December 3rd, 2000, 23:10 I use WS_FTP LE mainly and the DOS one when no client is installed on the computer I'm working with. Dad brought home Leech FTP or Ace FTP (I don't remember which....something with a colorful/stylish GUI) and I didn't like it...I guess it's because I've been working with WS_FTP for the past 4 years and don't want to change lol ;) atlas December 4th, 2000, 18:19 Fetch :). Or on linux ncftp.... mjk@atlascgi.com Coolin December 5th, 2000, 22:08 I use LeapFTP and I like it. But I still get those timeouts... | ||||
