Is there a way you can check for the remainder of 3 letter domains with a generator of some sortand if you were able to would it be illegal?

If it's not illegal is there a program somewhere that let's you do that?

I don't see why it would be illegal.

I think I remember a few months back of someone creating some sort of script that did this. I can't remember off the top of my head though.

There aren't any available (.com, .net, .org). I could lookup the code that I wrote, but there simply aren't any left unless perhaps some with numbers.

All dictionary words are pretty much taken too -- I wrote one to do that.

And where do you people learn how to write scripts like these? What do you need to know to write scripts? I'm amazed when people make these cool scripts.

Its a simple loop. I wrote a script that does this yesterday in about 30 minutes, except it takes forever to go through all 52728 domains. After yesterday's run I found only 2 domains available and they weren't worth registering, so don't keep your hopes up.

I have no idea what it was called or even if it's online anymore, but there used to be a site that listed every available three character domain available. If you search long and hard you might come across it (let me know if you do by the way, I want to bookmark it again). I got myself ak0.net and ak0.org through finding them available. :)
