I'm running Counter-Strike on a GF2MX400, with AMD Athlon XP 2100+, 512mb RAM.. and i'm still getting frame rates of 60 or below.. i run the game @ 1154x864.. nvidia says it has something to do with the monitor locking the game at its own refresh rate.. but my 17" monitor supports up to 75hz @ 1154x864

also tried /fps_max 100 in console.. no luck... its not a lag thing either.. even playing LAN or against bots...

HELP!

Try lowering the game resolution to 1024x768.

Tandoc, I encounter the same problem as you do. I'm running Counter-strike on a GF4 Ti4600, with a Pentium 2.0Ghz and 512 mb of RDRAM, and I get frame rates that never exceed 60 fps! I run the game at 1024x768, but even so, shouldn't my geforce 4 titanium be producing 100+ fps??

Is there possibly something wrong with my video card? Or is there some sort of lock that I have to take off in order to gain premium performance? I have a feeling this may have something to do with the fact that I have a Dell Computer...

for OpenGL there's a Vsync setting in the driver settings, switch it to off instead of on.
I don't see what the point is in drawing frames faster then the refresh rate though :confused2

Man you guys suck with your ti4400s, ti4600s and yet you only get 60fps.

I'm happy fragging away at 1600x1200 AA AAF cranked up to the max. Constant 100fps for me(and 100hz refresh rate for me). :)

Try overclocking your video card.

The GF2MX400 is exactly the same as the MX200 except it just has more ram. Core/memory speeds are the same and there's no real difference in performance.

I had a MX200 before I upgraded.
