I'm having some problems with certain sites sticking around in my drop down menu even after I clear history, cookies, and temporary internet files. I've tried using sftware programs like Spider, but they still don't get rid of them. It's cluttering my drop down menu and it's frustrating. Any help would be much appreciated.
Peace,

I guess I should add that I'm running Windows ME on a Gateway comp. Celeron 6?? I do believe.
Hope that helps.

I have only totally lost those in the dropdown once and I was heartbroken :cry2: (but I don't remember how I lost them now) I use them daily to save typing :o. I often clear cookies etc but the dropdown ones remain. You could go to tools/intenet options/days to keep history and change it to one maybe?

I've tried that. It's really bizarre because its only about five different sites that stay. Google, a Bob Villa site, an Invision board I used to visit regularly, and a wrestling news site (411wrestling.com).
Could it be that those sites have some kind of hidden cookie or actually embedded something in the IE.exe?

It stays because you typed in the address bar.
You can try to clear it by going to Tools - Internet Option - Clear History
Hope it helps

That is something to do with the auto complete settings, but sites tend to disappear if you don't visit them frequently.
It can get quite annoying.

Well, If you want, you can turn off the auto complete setting as well.
It's in the Tools - Option - Content - [AutoComplete]
From there you can clear as much as you wishes.
