Which one of the cheap registrars is it that offers to let you keep the remaining time if you transfer from another reg. before the year is up? Did that make sense? Like this, if I have 6 months left and transfer to a new registrar, I would pay the usual fee and that would keep me up 6+12=18 month.
One of the cheap ones has been posting that offer and now I can't find it...must flee from registerclub. Any one?

I think http://www.gkg.net allows you to do that... well even if they don't.. they are still pretty good.. $9.95 a year for a domain. They are really good too...

Really? Gee, I thought it was a feature when I saw the note about it at that registrar. Thanks guys. ;)

I think it is because, when you purchased your domain, the record is stored at ICANN, not just the registrar. So when you want to change registrar, the record just renew. and the period doesn't change.
