Don't knock it till you've tried it.

She's got some damn good rock on this album.

Has anyone else noticed that there is NOTHING good coming out lately? There's too much of this rap stuff... I am so sick of rap! It all sounds the same to me. All that Nelly stuff... Jay-Z or whoever it is... etc, etc. Rap is the new mainstream.

Oh, you mean that hip-hoppy pop trash? Yeah, it is.

anhedonia
March 4th, 2003, 07:06
Well ... whatever the teenyboppers call it. It is SO ANNOYING! You go into a CD shop and that's pretty much all they have. I used to go into CD shops and find a bunch of CDs I wanted. Now there's only like three I would even consider buying at the moment that are available.

"it's getting hot in herre" is such a stupid song, and represents exactly the type of crap I'm talking about. They can't even spell! It's here! What is the 'herre' crap? Stupid. It is the most pointless, waste of time and money song. And there are so many like it.

And all this Avril Lavigne crap, too. I can handle little girls being tarty and cheesy and airheads, but little Britney-wannabes pretending to be hard is just so wrong.

Anyway, the quality of music seems to be rapidly diminishing lately. Now, when you hear a half-decent song, you feel tempted to buy it, because everything else you hear is just plain rubbish. </rant>

There is loads of good music coming out lately, as there always has been. Quality of music seems to be generally how it always has been.

That is, if you look to mainstream music the quality of music is currently, and has generally always been, of incredibly poor standards.

There are thousands of good bands out there with top quality releases, you just need to find it outside of radio/television/mainstream media.

:classic2:

More on topic is the fact that I'm currently listening to: 'Semen Factory' by The Visible Men.

Excellent choice Ben. Some handsome devil was listening to that earlier in the thread. :devious2:

And I must agree with Toefur. The music being pumped out today is kickass, just not the stuff you hear on the radio or watch on MTV, when they occassionally play music.

I'm going to the Mad Caddies show tonight, should bea good show. The Real McKenzies, Rise Against, and the Flipsides are opening. Good times all around.

Right now I'm listening to Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars by Ensign, and next shall be ---- Armageddon this is Hell by Bad Religion.
