nope, it's totally legit.

*.com.kg, *.net.kg, *.org.kg, & *.edu.kg used to be free, but no longer.

they went with the age of free domains, they went about 8 months or something ago. Try a uni.cc or a com.ru for a free domain.

Domains at .kg registry converted to payments in May 2002. The cost now is US$6.20 deposited to an account at Citibank New York. It is a very complicated payment system that can incur extra tranfer charges, bringing the cost of the domain to US$9 for a 12 month period.

i would rather pay $8.95 to enom and get a .com domain ~!
