Too many forums, not enough messages.
In the beginning, you will have few postings. If they are scattered over different forums, your members will have to keep passing through the main page to get anywhere.
Keep the number of forums down until you need them.

Start to post threads that way anyone visiting will have something to read and may feel like joining in thus members start to build and so does your content.
