I got this classic game website @ http://homepage.ntlworld.com/gamezone/
An was wondering what people liked best for when actully playing games...
i'm refering to when playing a variety of games, as so then which controller would be 'your' overal favorite - as in, on average, like when theres a choice?

Depends on the game...you'd want a mouse/keyboard for SimCity but not a flight sim.

I can flight sim w/o a joystick..
it has a new "Mouse joystick" feature.. like BF1942

It really depends on the game..... you probably won't want to use a joystick or gamepad when playing CS...

Yes, it depends on the game...as lex says, a joystick to play cs would be quite...impossible. Whereas, a game like GTA (any version), a gamepad is nice and natural(although a racing wheel would be better...).

Since I play a lot of sports games (NBA Live, Madden, etc.) and GTA as well, I find myself using a gamepad more often than not.

I haven't played neither you or CanuckKev yet in cs...
[/off topic]
I only play 1 of 3 games at a time:
1) CS
2) BF1942:RTR
3) Mafia
I use the keyboard in all of those games except when flying in BF.

I just bought HL today (had a copy of a friends CD before...). So, right after I get good again (I was decent at my peak, back in 1.3).

A gamepad should be nice for action/fighting games, and joystick for those that does not require much keyboard typing.

Keyboard. My grand old CH JetStick is out of life. Something wrong with the cable and not interested in buying a new one or repairing it.

But what does all this CS an BF really mean - otherwise it sounds like a load of BS!
[unless you speak secret code-language]:D
me - i tried using a joystick with tomb raider - [notice it i didnt say TR], - but found it useless for tricky positioning, so i stick with the keyboard as its much more precise:)
an who remembers the 'joyball' - i used to have one!
