Hi, this is a newbie question but how do you include a folder in a zip file.. what happens to me is that when i try to include a folder with a folder is that it doesnt include the folder but only the files within it. How do you do it?

Open up Explorer, highlight the files you want to zip and then right click...

yes, thats what i do, but it removes the folder and only zips the files w/o the folder where the files are in.

are you adding the files in WinZip itself?

if I rightclick on a folder and pick "Add to whatever.zip" from the context menu it'll properly store the folder names.
In WinZip itself it won't save the relative path.

I did that too, but it doesnt work.. say this, I have a foler named "[website]" and I want to zip it with all contents.

{
[website]
- page1.html
- page2.html

    {
     - [images]
       - image1.jpg
       - image2.jpg
    }
}

now what winzip does..

{
- page1.html
- page2.html
- image1.jpg
- image2.jpg
}

it works like it should for me :confused2

which version of WinZip are you using?

under Options/Configuration on the "Explorer Enhancements" tab check that "Add to includes folder information" is checked as well.

im using winzip 8.0 and it works fine for me... did you try from opening up the prog? go to START -> PROGRAMS -> WINZIP

then click NEXT and pick CREATE NEW ZIP and then give it a name and then pick ADD FOLDER and then click the ZIP NOW button...

if that dont work then try reinstalling winzip...

winzip works for me but if it didnt, then i would use winrar or winace b/c those work fine for me too =P
