Illusion FX Net is a new company that offers free hosting, with unlimited storage space and bandwidth (but metered, of course), PHP, MySQL, Perl/CGI, and more, with no ads or banners. You can submit an application at www.illusionfxnet.com. The server is very reliable and current clients approve of their services.

Oh ya, and one more thing. even though you ar running Windows XP wich is more secure (i think...) then 95,98,etc, i would still reccomend moving to linux/FreeBSD as they are more secure. Hey, at least you aren't running IIS! thats a relief!:)

I'll explain to you as to why we use Windows XP. The server is run where the OS cannot be changed. Otherwise we would use that OS. The servers actually were on Windows 98 until about 2 weeks ago, and with Windows 98 we had socket errors quite frequently. We have had VERY minimal downtime, no more than 10 minutes. It is believed to be 5 mintues that we know of due to a Qwest hiccup.

How long does it in general take you to accept a host application, because I'm in desperate need of some free hosting. I applied yesterday, but so far I've only got the auto-response formmail.

About my question, when you have applied it says something about 24 hours, so I was wondering about that since I haven't heard anything yet, but digged a bit, and from what I can understand you've got pretty many applications... I'll wait till it's my turn ;)

Well, we are nearly done with the applications for yesterday, so maybe we overlooked it an moved it b4 actually processing it.

how many ppl will you host? and will you guys close down sites for having certain materials like warez/pornography? and will you guys close down sites that are not active ie meaning nothing happening last update was january 1st 2003 Happy new years and todays date is december 25 2003

Warez/Porn (not including HAND DRAWN ART) will force us to close sites. Also, we will delete sites after a month or so of no activity, meaning, no files updated, no logins etc. How many people we will host is up in the air. If the current webserver gets overloaded, i can setup others, so site limit won't be a problem. Also, aside from all of this being in the TOS that will be written shortly, we want to keep large files, (files above 75 MB to a min.) Unlimited space means unlimited space for useful stuff. Useful stuff to us is site files. Not movies and that other crap. We will delete files larger then 75 mb if we deem it necessary.

k good. Cuz i have been on servers b4 that say unlimited everything but were so dam slow. I wont have any Movies. I will have very small download files. A forum and someothers. I have a question will you guys allow subdomains if i was to get myself a domain? just asking dont really need them as of right now.

The site sounds so wonderful but I received an automated response from you on April 1st and haven't heard anything since.
(dropped you an email about it today, also) It was listed under beachcomberbills.fsx.net, I think ... but I've just registered a domain to transfer, beachcomberbills.us.
I understand completely if you are swamped and it's going to take a while longer, but I wanted to check to see if perhaps I did something wrong.

The server switch is happening and everything is chatic. It may or may not have been rejected. If you have any other questions, please post the in our forums.

200 mbs, who would upload that with 12kb/s speed of upload?

What about smaller size mbs, like converted ones, around 15 to 35 mbs? I see many anime sites do that, but is that ok? If not its fine.
