hi, we are 5 webmasters, we started the free business 7 days ago, and everything was smooth, we received 200 emails per day, and around 20 clients sign-up per day.

The first domain was hosting-paypal.com , and in order to avoid Paypal trademark law, we decided to change the name to hosting-pp.com .

So so far so good.

Hosting-PP
March 29th, 2003, 18:48
hi, my friend,

because the server is free, we have no plenty time to due with cheque or bank transfer.

The only payment is credit card.

our domain control panel has a secure server to accept visa, master, american express.

yes, a few clients pay us for support by Paypal. Paypal also needs credit card to active.

We will provide more professional service until we set-up new business to make profit.

We will sell our php software in future.

Many thanks.

how is it possible to offer unlimited space/transfer? are you a scam? some people seem to think so

Hosting-PP
March 29th, 2003, 19:00
our server is for business, not just a rubbish bin, if your site grows to yahoo size, we are willing to buy more servers for you, and try to make money together.

We do not allow clients upload mp3, video or any single file which is over 500MB except permission.

But we allow you to install vBulletin, PHP-nuke, php shopping cart, or whatever php scripts.

You will enjoy our server, no doubt.

Why do you need to transfer the domain? Can't you just set the nameservers?

Also, can I use it with a uni.cc domain because I don't want to transfer my real domain to you guys .. :o

Hosting-PP
March 29th, 2003, 20:29
it is just easy for us to manage your hosting account, if your nameservers have been changed to others, you hosting account will be terminated immediately.

If you get a free ticket for a 5 stars hotel room, you still need to register your name in the hotel, in case something happens...

Why is it so important that current domain name owners transfer to you? Why not transfer to you when expiration is getting close? What happens if you go under? What happens to their domains then? You have only been around a week, so anyone entrusting their current domain to you would be foolish I would think.

hi,

the domain is only $10.3/yr

the hosting is unlimited everything + mysql, and it is free.

If you still say it is too expensive, and it is not worth to pay $10.3/yr to get free unlimited everything. you still can transfer your domain back to other companys. becase we don't make profit from domain, and the domain will be registered under your name not ours.

if you found the other company which give you a free top level domain and free unlimited hosting +mysql, please let me know.

Our package is the cheapest in the world.

We are just a few guys who love internet, and we will sell our php software in future to make profit.

Please answer my questions above. You didn't address them at all.

1. Why is it so important that current domain name owners transfer to you?
2. Why not transfer to you when expiration is getting close?
3. What happens if you go under? What happens to their domains then?

I was not referring to buying new domains, but entrusting you with domains they already own. I certainly wouldn't transfer my domain name to anyone who hadn't built up at least a one year honesty reputation. :devious2:

1. most of hosting companies register domains on your behalf, but if you register domains through us, the domain owner is still you not us! It is important to transfer domain to us because that is the only way to check if the clients are still interested in our hosting services, maybe he or she change name servers to somewhere else, and just back up some useless file in our free server for free. we are not that stupid to do this kind of thing. we want you grow business through our server, and make the hosting-pp more well-known than other hosting companies.

2. you can transfer your domain do us when expiraion is getting close, it just takes us 15 seconds to set up a unlimited hosting package, and it is also takes us 2 seconds to terminate a hosting package if the domain nameservers have been transfered to others or the domain expire.....

3. If we can not afford to provide the free hosting anymore(oops! not at the moment, so far so good), you still can control your domain. because the domain owner is you, and the domain control panel is powered by enom, you can trust enom, they have already got reputation over a year .

Our objective is to get 1000 clients in the first month.

You seem determined that your unlimited everything will work, as have many "dead" hosts before you, (if I took the time, I could give you links to dozens of hosts that "died" in 2-30 days, all of them swore they were the best thing since sliced bread). There might be a few gullible people that will fall for your *generous* offer and we will be here to pick up the pieces after. :classic2:

Good luck ;)

Just the title of this thread prompts me to believe that I should spend my money elsewhere. Too much free forever suggests that, yes, we know, unlimited anything simply does not exist. Use our service anyway. I don't know, the way you operate seems somewhat vague. Is there something you are neglecting to tell us, or can you maybe redefine how you operate more clearly. Perhaps I am missing something, but as of now, this service reeks of scam, or potential grave yard host.

hiya,

1. any single file larger than 100 MB will be reported to Hosting-PP for a permission.

2. Total space is over 100MB, 500MB, 1000MB, 2000MB will be reported to Hosting-PP for a permission.

3. Bandwidth is over 5GB, 10GB, 15GB, 20GB, 25GB, will be reported to Hosting-PP for a permission.

Upgrading is free, if the space and bandwidth are related with your business.

Yeah, it's back up. Although I do not believe that transfering or registering a domain for a fee is a free service...it's certainly cheaper than mister.net but it's still a price. IMO this belongs in the Web Hosting Offers forum, not the free one.

I know i am my own host, but i am replying on behalf of a lot of people here.

I have talked to poeple that do webhosting themselves, and even they shake their head at this. Its not possible, bandwidth is limited, and transfer costs money. This means that either you have to be backed by a HUGE company willing to pay for all this, or your just doing it to get people to buy domains, make a bit of it and then suddenly disappear. That site that is at http://www.hosting-pp.com/index.htm, down at the bottom is the one i mean, http://www.uwvsa.com/ redirects to http://www.gamesec.com/error_docs/not_found.html

How are we supposed to know that you mean business when a site supposedly hosted on your servers, seems to not exist?

Anyways, since i am not supposed to reply, please remove this Jan if you think i bend the rules to much. =)

Hi,

http://www.uwvsa.com broke rules yesterday, he uploaded music files to our server, the account has been suspended, we are discussing how to unsuspend this account at the moment. please read our terms here: http://www.hosting-pp.com/terms.htm

our new high quality paid package will be launched next week. the new package is allowed to upload mp3, video... , clients pay monthly for that.

well . i just wonder, is that i pay USD 10 something and i will get an account for hosting and domain ? i don't request much bout the bandwidth cause i don't believe with the unlimited bandwidth stuff . but i need wanna know is that stable ? well. is that i punch that domain from u ? or i get it from somewhere else and i pay u that transfer cost . if yes, why not i just punch that domain from u and get the free hosting account and this just cost me USD 10something and i no need to pay that extra transfering cost .

well, if i pay by creadit card, is that secure ? thank for the answer. cause if what i guess in my mind was right , am intrested to get . pls don just del my post for reminder ! :D

our domain panel is a secure page to accept credit cards.

if you buy a .com or transfer a domain through us for only $10.3/yr, you get hosting as well.

some hosting just sell you a domain for $29/yr and hosting for $10/month.

think about it.

and also, in our domain control panel, you can edit your own administrative email, and owner address. the domain is belong to you, you are the only owner.

You get the full control of the domain.:classic2:

I might remind everyone of what Jan has said. Just remember that every new free host who comes here offering stuff like this soon disappear. I'll make a wager on this one, and that one of the following will happen.

1) They wont last past 6 months.
2) They will begin to limit options due to warez, porn, or other abusers.
3) They may stop accepting signups and say they are full, dealing with absers, etc.
3) To avoid my predictions above. They may claim hardware probs, advertisor probs, programming probs, or datacenter probs for the limiting or shutting down of services.

The reason this will happen is because they dont fully understand what they are getting themselves into (although they think they do). So later down the road, I dont want to see any of you coming in here claiming you got ripped off and the host is now out of business, etc, etc.

I have been in this business for years. I have outragious bandwidth available to me, it costs me amazingly little, and get top hardware at great prices. These guys have the plan of "Offer everything for free and they will come" while when they do come and they find they cant handle the load (either bw or hardware) they find themselves up stink creek with no way out but to shut down.....taking what little you paid with them..

great ! let me count bout it . erm.. USD10.3 x Rm3.80 = Rm39.14 .or RM41.20 if we count by change rate USD 1 = RM4.00 means RM45.00 i can get a domain and hosting per year. isnt' it ?
the basic hosting is 100MB space right . ?

Umm, unless I have missed something, you expect to pay expensive bills adding up to probably at least 10,000 dollars US for hosting each month on the cost of selling PHP scripts. It is highly unlikely unless your scripts are extremally popular, that you would make a profit let alone actually pay your debt.
I believe you really need to adjust your service to better suit the internet community.
Unlimited everything will get abused, your service will suffer from lower server speeds etc.
It is human nature to abuse something that is free, we all do it from time to time.

Jerome

Frankly speaking ...

paying $10.30 for a full shared ? hosting is relatively very cheap.
If you all say that the domain cost about $8 ++ , the hosting is only $2++ a year ... and i don't see it is much expensive that all other hosting found in this site.

Look at digitalrice , donation $2 for a standard hosting ... can we just use this $2 to get a FULL FEATURED PACKED hosting ?

And i one question to ask Hosting-PP , is your server apache based ? and is our account and domain guarantee to last forever ?

if he is able to resolve this , i believe there will be .... no problem in registering one

jason120au

The whole point of which you continue to miss is that you can not make a profit providing Unlimited Everything for $10.30 a year.

we647
April 1st, 2003, 03:35
you do get a pd domain at 10.30, unless they hack your cc number. than the worst off you are is 50.00 and they more than likely end up in some bighouse where a guy named bubba be thier best friend,lol..., the worst off you are is your out hosting but you own the domain and free to move it to the nameservers of your choice.

i wonder if anyone here or at wht took this offer yet?????....
