Not too much different from their advanced hosting to their reseller hosting, both have CPanel, i doubt the host is gonna stay up that long, CPanel costs them alot of money, thats why you dont see reseller hosts with that kind of space for like 20 a month. I'd give it a try, they do have good support though.

Trust me, when running a huge corporation, you're going to wish that you never let your customers message you on aim. It's alot easier to manage clients through a helpdesk of some sort.

when managing a real corporation, you learn to hire something called employees, to help ya out. You think major hosts like geocities are runned by one person? Ha.

No. But does Geocities let customers contact them via aim?

Most midsized to large corporations only have 1 or 2 to handle technical support for over a thousand customers. Would it be easier for them to use a helpdesk or aim?

For managing a large number of clients, it's ALWAYS best to do it systematically, regardless of the size or how many technical support personel is available.

A quote from Web Hosting Talk:

ATTENTION:

The host known as "HostDaemon.com" is quite unreliable. It is maintained by a thirteen year old child, who is quite rude, and lacks decent conversational skills. How do I know this? I previously "partnered" with him, and was unaware of his status until after he convinced me to purchase a dedicated server for him. Being the obnoxious person that he is, he did not allow me to make changes or create accounts, or basically do anything on a server that *I* purchased for him. This kid has NO MONEY, and he may attempt to charge lucrative prices, but due to his financial status, there's a good 50% chance that your site won't be hosted after a month or two since he can't pay for his own server.

I'm a student at Harvard, so its not like I'm making all this stuff up.

BEWARE!

I'm not sure if it's true, maybe you should make your decision. :smile2:

Please disregard any information on that post. Ian is attempting to ruin my business because our partnership went sour. If you would like to hear my side of the story, please contact me.

Well i dont need to hear your side of the story, If a host cant get along with their staff, then how good of a host does that make you.

Ya know, I think this forum should be closed. Its no longer even related to what the person has requested and it looks like its going to turn ugly.

I have seen enough of these in WHT.

I disagree, if you were him, you'd at least like the chance to show that your not a retard. Put yourself in his shoes.

As requested:

Qubefactor(Ian) and I created a partnership to start a web hosting company.
He was to buy the server and the domain, I was to create the site and do
handle all administrative functions. I had worked out a deal with a provider
for a great server deal. Instead, Ian went off and bought a server on his
own without consulting me. He bought it from ServerBeach. I later found out
ServerBeach had been banned from WHT and their bad reputation, and told Ian.
But I thought, ok, no big deal, just buy a new server next month. The server
we had purchased had problems right in the beginning, we did not get
HostDaemon launched until almost a week after the server was purchased.
After that, everything went well, about 5 signups within the first two
weeks. Then, Ian started to change many account features, prices without my
consent. The partnership outline was that Ian was to remain an *investor*
and not interfere with any administration. So I told Ian to stop, let me
handle it, and not to worry. After awhile, he agreed. A few days later, Ian
IMed on AIM. He said that we were through and he was backing out of the
project. So, I immediately got a new investor, a friend of mine. Bought a
new server, moved everything over, and continued HostDaemon. Obviously, Ian
isn't pleased with the fact I'm still in business and wants to hurt my
reputation.

Well, Ian had the right to edit stuff, but you both should have agreed on the prices and stayed with them until the next meeting. I dont think it was a good trade though... I think Ian was a little too carried away, making himself think he could be as big as Geocities in a few days, it took them years.

To everyone else, I say trust this kid. The only way he'll end up broke is doing exactly what Ian wants, avoid him. Anyways whats the most he can do, if the server goes down, its not his fault, he doesnt own the datacenter, take it up with the Dedicated server.
