Well my grandfather just bought a Nissa Maxima 2004. So inturn, I get his old 1999 Volkswagon Passat GLX with just under 20k KM on it. Still in perfect condition, great sound system, and a cd changer. :D
Why my grandfather buys new luxurious cars every 4-5 years.
So, now I get the Passat and my sister gets my Kia Rio. Life is good. :)

I hate you :p so when you're grandpa buys a new car somewhere down the line, can I have the Passat? I'm willing to trade in my 1986 Chevrolet Caprice deathmobile to even it out a little bit.

Hmm...what a rich Grandfather you have.
For me, I just want a car that's sort of sporty, but mostly reliable. Not too old obviously. And under $5000 (CAD). Which, isn't that hard actually, but the problem is most are standards, and I don't know how to drive standards.
The bigger problem is insurance. I got a quote the other day from our current insurance provider, and for only $1mill 3rd party liability (the min), and it was $4800/y. Don't know if it's worth it to spend that kind of money on car that might not last a year.

I agree.
Insurance is the main reason i tend not to drive much... a years' worth of insurance is worth more than my car.
4800 seems steep though... for me it was just over 100/month (without insurance for hitting animals and whatnot)

I'm far from rich. My grandfather however, is pretty successful.
Blank, no matter how much I want to send you a car, when the next time my grandfather buys a new car, the Passat will have to go to my younger brother. Family first. :D
Life still is good. :)

I wish I had a drivers license, or old enough to get one.

AndD aniel, I second Stu's notion. You have it too easy.

MY family might be, but myself individually, I barely get through life.

Condo: me and my g/f split rent
Cars: I bought a Kia Rio because it was the only that fit my budget.
Expensive Gear: what are you referring too?
Computers: working at a computer retailer pays off

Well, a Kia Rio is pretty cheap...but any brand new car is pretty damn expensive. I don't buy that you are barely making it through life, but can lay down $$$ on a brand new car, when you could get a decent used for for much cheaper.
Aren't we all jealous....:D

Well, without financial help from various people...I wouldn't have been able to purchase the Kia Rio in the first place. Now that I had it, it's my sisters now and I get the Passat.
