hiya i got myself a free 2ndlevel domain and i was wondering. when i made it point to the ip of my address and i used the domain name it went to a screen like http://realwebmasters.net i was wondering what i had to do so it works properly thanks.

First of all i hope you're just using that link as an example, because you do know they closed right?

Are you hosting the site yourself? or are you with a webhost?

If you're hosting the site, you need to use a free dns service, somewhere like http://www.afraid.org or http://zonedit.com then go back to where you registered the domain and point it to their nameservers.

Once the dns is updated you can then direct it to your own IP

If you're with a webhost, then providing they let you use a domain you need to find out your hosts nameservers and specify them where you registered the domain.

i know im using illusionfx.net when there servers are fixed.

Then you need to find out if they will accept domains, and if so you need the details of the nameservers
