I need to learn some new skills involving PHP,DHTML and sockets programming. I'm tired of working for the man;its time to take steps towards breaking out on my own.

I need a free site with:

PHP, CGI and FTP;
about 20mb space;
I have no way of knowing what my bandwidth usage might be as I would be testing my code; i would expect it to be under a gig a month;
don't care about ads, as long as I have 3/4 of the page for my use;
mysql would be nice, but not an absolute requirement at this time;
no minimum unique hit requirement of any kind; at this time my site is about learning new skills, not marketing any of the results; in 6mos-1yr, that may change;
i do not have a domain, nor do i want one at this time; just a directory on a server where i can play.

i am not developing anything in particular - mostly just working my way through some progamming texts; i do have some ideas for some 2 player internet games that would be very resource limited in scope;

i have looked at a number of the other postings and i haven't found anything that looks promising (or else i can't access their signup pages).

You won't get CGI on a free host these days...
