Blurry? Sure they look alright when you view your pages locally? Nothing wrong with the sizes in the IMG tags?
Eh, your IP isn't AOL by any chance?

The host won't make a difference in your pictures as it's all zeros and ones regardless. I think meow might be onto something though. AOL spiders and chaches images, crunching them to 'supposedly' speed downloads. The result is badly pixeled, blurry images.
Actually I only ever found this out after I saw my site through an AOL account *shudder* From someone who works with images pixel by pixel everyday it was quite a shock...

Yes, that was what I was thinking of. But then phaseone would see all images that way.
It was up on a web design list a time ago. Turned out that many professional designers weren't aware of the fact that many of their American users got crunched images. Also that many AOL users aren't aware of it and don't know they can turn the compression off in their browsers. After discussing the work arounds it was decided that the best thing to do was to educate the users about how to get rid of the "feature".

You're using .bmp formatted images, thats why. Use .jpg's or gif's instead

Since I've installed AOL 5, when I right-click on an image to save it (even in IE) the only formats available are BMP and ART.
I mean ART???? For pete's sake! - PSP6 doesn't even recognise it!
Is this to do with the compression?
But in the UK it's only £15/month for unmetered access and they're pretty fast & never engaged. Which is nice.

I don't know about ART, but BMPs are bigger in file size than JPGs and GIFs, why would AOL do that?
