Pagebuilders can be great when you're just starting out, my first website was made with the geocities pagebuilder :D but they are very limited and you never really learn anything by using them as they basically do everything for you.

The best thing would be to take some time and study some tutorials on HTML

You'll find some very good tutorials and reference pages at
http://www.webmonkey.com

a good introduction to html here
http://builder.cnet.com/webbuilding/0-3881-8-5893399-1.html

and hopefully some tutorials i wrote on building your first webpages will help
http://loon.hybridnetwork.net/index.php?page=htmltutorials

as for using an actual page builder/editor most people tend to use packages like frontpage or dreamweaver, but personally i still think they do a little too much for you and it's not the best way to learn.

There are some good html editors around, the one i mostly use is html pad from
http://www.blumentals.net/htmlpad

it's quite easy to navigate and understand, you can download it as a trial first, so it wont cost you anything to get started with, then hopefully after some reading and some practice, notepad will be all you need :p

Forums like this are a great source of help also, so don't be afraid to ask questions :)

http://codingforums.com <-- also an address worth noting

have fun :D

take notepad. The best way to learn html. You have to type the codes yourself so you learn it in that way. Great and no fancy things at all. :) Frontpage isn't that great, it makes things go wrong and gives errors and even replaces codes with codes that dont belong there so that the actual code will not work out right.

I would recommend notepad, just on your own computer. :)
and yeah i would recommend pagebuilder from geocities.com if you would like to start with them. I started with them and in that way i learned to 'build' the page first (so to learn how to make an layout for your website and learn that fonts aren't the most important thing and so many more) after that i went into the 'coding'
