http://127.0.0.1
Set up Cygwin, boom, instant shell.
telnet to m-net.arbornet.org
I use it frequently now when I don't feel like logging into my main email. I just leave the telnet window open and issue the simple command and *pop* the emails out.
Some commands then the explanation in italics:
mail checks your account's mail. Type the number of the message then enter to read it.
mail [email address] sends email to whatever you put for [email address]. Hit enter, type a subject, hit enter, type your message, hit enter, type one dot (you know, this little thing: .), hit enter again, and the message is sent
gcc [i]this is the GCC compiler. Replace [input file] with the filename of the textfile containing code.
perl [perl file] Replace [perl file] with the name of the file that contains perl code, and it will run it and display the results on screen (if there are any written results that it)
lynx This a popular text based browser
pico If you chose the editor 'pico' when you signed up, then this will open it. I highly suggest pico.
Those are the only commands I've needed so far. Good luck. Be sure to choose the 'bash' shell, which is very good IMO, unless you prefer a different one.
I forgot to mention, the emails you send out will be from [username]@m-net.arbornet.org (of course [username] will be whatever username you chose at signup)

I've tryed m-net before but they wont give you full function of the shell.
What, do you want to "hack" from it or something?

Heh. Why don't you just download a minimalistic version of Linux?
