As above!

Best if 50mb or more...

More bandwidth the better ...best unmetered

No ads...

I think you may have to reconsider your "no ads" expectation, most people wont host just a forum as they drain resources and usually don't bring in much traffic.

http://bb.exocrew.com were offering forum hosting at one point, you could try there, also have a look through the hosting offers, i'm sure i saw somebody make a thread offering forum hosting in the last few days.

Your best option would be http://invisionfree.com

well, if www.breezeland.com ever gets back up, they're great except they have safe mode on so that you can't upload skins, and you can't let users upload files (comes up with error message if they try), but other than that, breezeland is great.

When breezeland come back they wont have mail() enabled, needed obviously for sending user passes etc

I hate to be frank about it, but your silly little forums aren't worth an ad-free host. Neither are the forums of anyone else who doesn't have the money to pay for hosting their forum.

I have to agree, there are too many forums around these days. Most are pointless and contain less than 5 members and still have the default skin.

If you are not willing to pay for your website to be hosted, then you have no business running a forum or any other type of BBS.

I am actually looking for one with the same specs. I have recently started working on a website that resembles hotornot, but with a twist.. No humans involved. MOre on the launch. But anyway, i am building the required script from scratch, and due to the nature of the site, i will require 50 mb, preferrably no ads, though i am willing to put up small ones, and fairly good bandwidth(1gb?). I would also like it to be a grounded company, and not one like freehu.com . Any suggestions?

I Have to agree with maniac. The reason so many MySQL hosts are going down and becoming manual sign up is because lame-o kids see a forum and see the admin and how many posts he has and how mighty he is. So they look for a couple free hosts, put a phpBB here, an Invision Forum there and an IkonBoard somewhere else and you suck all these valuable free resources for no reason.

Just go remotely hosted PLEASE that is wat they are for.

LoL... yes striker is totally right. Invisionfree is your best bet PaSsEr... they're reliable and provide what you need, if you really are serious about starting a community, don't start one on a free host, start one on a paid host.

Hate to put a damper on things but yall preaching to him (basically what you are doing) is not really going to help much. You should know, for many kids just ignore what is being preached to them and is also a waste of breath... he hasnt replied probably forgot about the post and moved to try and make his forum where he is unable to hear you...

Just saying the facts although it is nice that yall care :D *cough* partially bout yourselves though... everyone has a greedy bone even you wether you relize it or not :biggrin2:

It is just like piracy. Goes on ever day of the week, everyone knows about it yet nobody can do anything about it no matter what they do or say.

Forget it, like it was stated before. Ad-free forum hosting for $0.00 is pretty much not going to happen. Just live a little and spend a few bucks.

FYI, I am an admin/co-owner/staff (or whatever you like to call it) at Exocrew. I am sorry that Exocrew does not plan to open forum hosting at this moment, BUT I am discussing with the owner to see if it is possible to have a competition, I really want people to have a chance at it.

Exocrew's MYSQL service has been quite good. We do have a reason for closing signups. We don't want abuse. Of course, we have volunteers looking through the content too...

My suggestion is to process every submission carefully if someone wants to open a MYSQL host. And of course close it once demand starts getting higher.

But of course I agree (popular) remotely hosted forums are better for hosting forums.

Sorry about being defensive.

Well now isnt that why we have this forum? To hear everyones opinions on free hosts on whatever although many facts prove to overrun the others, but still the more the point of views the more atleast some of us will learn.
