You could always use a free host and cheat the system by removing the ads, but I don't recomend it.
www.coolfreepages.com from what I've heard is easy to do this on, but I don't recomend removind ads.

or you could try
127.0.0.1
localhost
Or this great one (http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=3)

gee you don't expect much for free do you :confused2

sometimes you have to make comprimises if you're not prepared or able to pay for hosting, especially where forums are concerned.

http://openbb.com and you can a hosted one at http://obbhost.com

Personally i think it's better than invisionboard or phpbb

Hmm OBB has a dead community. :smile2: But anyway... on-topic... If you have a well established board with loads of members and threads, you should try going paid if you're serious about administrating a forum, if not then invisionfree is your best bet... it's the closest you can get to reliability for a free forum host. :smile2:
