how did they make your cd-rom pop-up using a html page?

right click and view the pages source, and that'll tell you - I don't know if it works, as neither of my cdrw or dvd's are actually hooked up at the moment.

It's a simple VBScript that exploits a hole in IE. Use a secure browser and it won't affect you.

One of many annoying little tricks that exploits the bugs & faults in I.E

There's loads, flipping the page uside down, making the window bounce around the screen, and many more :p

i'm using IE under win2k and nothing hapened. Maybe there's a Service Pack installed, I don't know because i'm at work...

You also need to have 'Windows Media Player' installed. :rolleyes:

Its an exploit in Windows Media player.

Am i lucky that i dont use IE, no popping CD's out of my CD Drive.

Well, it must either be Moz (or one of the other gecko-using browsers) or Opera.

Unless he's using *nix.

I'm using IE, the only thing that happens is that it complains about a script error :rolleyes:

FreeBSD running KDE in Mozilla like you said :).
