Here's the email I received today:

"We hope you are currently enjoying the use of your FREE membership in the Namezero service, and making use of your domain name, domain-based e-mail forwarding, and domain forwarding. We appreciate your loyalty and support.

Many of our members have asked about the status of Namezero's FREE domain services. Namezero, like Yahoo, NetZero, Alta Vista, and other leading Internet companies, has modified our terms of service from time to time to adapt to a changing marketplace (our current terms of Free service are located at: http://www.namezero.com/support/policies/sup-pol_tos.shtml). Unlike many other Internet companies, Namezero continues to offer free services including domain management and hosting through our mydomain.com service, and the Namezero FREE service to select new customers.

The FREE service has been available to you for a trial period during which we hope you have taken advantage of the easy to use features to set-up your online identity. Before your trial period expires, you will automatically receive a notice explaining the options you have to continue using the Namezero service. At this time Namezero members whose FREE service is expiring must renew to continue using their domain name, domain e-mail, and the Namezero service:

Renew your Namezero service by upgrading to our PLUS service. When you renew your service with Namezero and you will have the ability to hide the NavBar, a 10MB e-mail account with POP and Web access, and we will transfer the domain to your name. Renew Now! Click Here: http://controlpanel.namezero.com/cp/multi_offers.jsp

Fortunately, you can renew your Namezero service before it expires and secure your domain for up to a 5-year term. We are currently running special offers for existing members in good standing on 1-year, 2-year and 5-year domain renewals. To take advantage of this special offer, click on the link above.

Our PLUS service continues to be the best value in domain name services in the world. We hope you will choose to renew your Namezero service and continue to be part of the Namezero community. We appreciate your loyalty and support.

Sincerely,

The Namezero Team"

Check their TOS for more... your post was only based on the email Namezero sent out.

7.2 Renewal. So long as you have remained in compliance with each of the terms and the spirit of this Agreement from the date you agreed to be bound by this Agreement, including without limitation the minimum use requirements set forth in Section 6.1, we may elect in our sole discretion to (i) allow you to upgrade to the Plus Service at the prevailing applicable rate, (ii) automatically renew this Agreement for a term, determined by Namezero, from such date (the "Renewal Period") and (ii) continue providing you with the Namezero Service subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement (including a renewal of the registration of the domain name provided to you in connection with the Namezero Service).

Dang, I got my hopes up after reading the title of this thread and it all went away after reading LeX's post.

Coolin, this is for you:

from http://www.namezero.com/support/policies/sup-pol_tos.shtml
7.5 Effect of Termination. Unless we elect otherwise, upon termination or expiration of this Agreement, (i) we will immediately cease to provide you with the Namezero Service (which will include deactivation of your e-mail account and deletion of any existing messages in your mailbox), and you may not access or attempt to access the Namezero Service after such date, and (ii) we will not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of this Agreement. If we elect to cease providing you with the Namezero Service for any or no reason pursuant to section 4.2, we may provide you with the opportunity to upgrade to one of our paid services or to transfer out of the Namezero Service. If you do not elect to upgrade or transfer, you will transfer to us all of your right, title and interest in and to the domain provided to you through the Namezero Service, and we may hold, cancel, sell or transfer such domain name at our discretion. All provisions of this Agreement that impose obligations continuing in their nature will survive the termination of this Agreement, including without limitation Sections 2.5, 3.2, 10.2 and 10.3. You agree that we will not be responsible or liable to you or any third party for any loss or damage of any sort incurred as the result of any termination of this Agreement.

My parents won't let me use their credit card anyways. So I'm out of luck no matter what I do.
