Gray Lines across the screen

I have a 17" NEC LCD monitor and just recently, there has been gray lines across the screen. I'm wondering if it's the monitor or the graphics card's problem..

Well, the obvious thing to do is try the monitor on another computer.

Out of curiosity...do they stay there, or is it just a temporary thing? Yes, try it on another computer. Then try another monitor on that computer.
