Hello!

I have a domain name and I use a redirecting service to my site, which is hosted on a free web service. And I wanted to have an email (for me) with my "@domain-name.com". I tried to set my dns but all I can get is having the emails that people send to my "@domain-name.com" email redirected to another pop email I have. So it works to receive messages but not to SEND. I can send from the pop email I have, but how can I send from the email with my "@domain-name.com"??? A friend told me that I should use Eudora Pro, and I tried but I did not have any success. Any idea? Does anybody know a good forum where somebody can help me on this?

Thanks!

Robertão

This isn't POP, but you could set up a web based account with http://www.everyone.net or http://www.bigmailbox.com
With these services, you could create an email for yourself and even offer free email to your visitors!

Which redirecting service to you use?

AFAIK you need to setup your own smtp-server, which you can do with linux and sendmail e.g., but probably it doesn't work "out of the box", because most services will treat you as spammer and your mails will bounce if your mailheader is incorrect. To modify standard sendmail.cf is not very easy, so I decided to use the smtp-server of my isp for the next time.

And what to do, if you want the domain for private email only and have a catch-all-email fowarding? I still don't know another service than mydomain and maybe indian-magic.

In your free mail, there's an option to modigy the email that apears on sended mails. I don't know if all free e-mail providers have it, but runbox has.

Hey robertao~

You might wanna' try: http://www.bn3.com/service.jx

The mail boxes are only 3MB & not tricked out, but will serve your purpose. I've only noticed 2 times I couldn't access mail in the last 8mos. Excellent FREE service.
