I have been a member with sphosting.com for the past year. They have provided excellent free web hosting with no ads or banners. Now they have lost their main funding and have incorporated a pop-behind ad. It is better than a pop-up ad and banner, but nonetheless it is an ad. Now I am looking for a new web host that can offer free ad free web hosting. I've tried F2S (very slow for me). Didn't like the brinkster TOS. Any other suggestions? Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Just found http://www.doteasy.com/
Tranfer fee of $35 to transfer domain name, but free hosting for life. No ad banners. They email you 1 ad a day instead.
Looks ok to me. Can anyone comment?

Yeah I heard of 69megs.com. I would have thought they were an adult host, but they're too slow anyway.

You could also try http://www.f2s.com or http://www.russoweb.com

They both provide hosting with no ads.

He said that you shouldn't recommend f2s.

I recommend Barrysworld, do NOT, I repeat; Do not, choose Yupapa or Russoweb, as they will be gone in an month due to a growing deficit.

Here is an option that sounds great (too great?)... supposedly free for life (probably theirs more than yours)after a one time $14 set up fee. Don't know much about them. I think they are with DonHost. You only have 14 bucks to loose.

250MB UNIX Disk Space
50 POP3 Mailboxes
50 Autoresponders
Unlimited Email Addresses
Subdomain Names
Web Based Control Panel
Microsoft® FrontPage® 2000 Server Extensions
CGI Scripting in Perl, C & Python
Server Side Includes
PHP4 Scripting
mySQL Database Server
SSL Secure Server
Sever Side PGP Encryption
WAP Server
5000MB Monthly Data Transfer

Wow...they host domains too and no ads. Sure looks (too) good. Hope it's for real.
Says a NT server with Cold Fusion and ASP is coming. Wonder if they'll keep this, supposedly UNIX, too.

They say this deal is only till June 29th.

I've been watching how they are doing with up time download time and ping and such... they are showing as an ok server (sometimes slow), but nothing special. Ofcourse, all of that for free is still pretty good.

Even if they only lasted a year or so(I'm being optimistic), 14 dollars is next to nothing.

I don´t see why they use the word 'free' :

To setup your hosting account, there is a single fee of $14 (US Dollars).

And you have to sign up with your cc number, haha.
