NEWS & UPDATES FROM CROSSWINDS

April 21, 2001, 11:22am EST - Anti Bandwidth Leaching
As you can see, we are much MUCH faster. Almost 90% of our bandwidth was being leached from links on other servers. We have installed anti leaching protection and we know initially it will be too strict. There are many valid domains such as guestbooks, etc, that should be able to link to files in your Crosswinds accounts. We have setup an email address for those that run into this problem. Please email the full domain name to bandwidth@crosswinds.net and we will allow appropriate domain names to link.- Scott

So now all of those warez files that aren't linked from crosswinds are now ****ed.

Plus, I went to my old site there, which used to take forever to open, now is quite speedy. Check it out for yourself.

No, since they offer unlimited space and file size a lot of people were putting their apps on the crosswinds server and linking to them from another host. They lost 90% of their bandwidth because of that.

Now none of those work, because of the anti-leeching software.

I wish you massive luck if you are able to connect the FTP to upload your web pages.

Well... They do have less users now. So connecting to their FTP should be easier.
