I don't know how many of you know about agum.com's cgi hosting service, but here I'm sorry to tell you it will be closed very soon.

There are many reasons for this.. first thing as you all might have noticed, Agum.com began to provide ad-free service since about half a year ago. I've been working hard on it and with other income sources I decide to provide completely free service.

The only thing is people don't seem to appreciate it too much. I've done a lot for my users but they just kept complaining. To be honest, after my helper has gone, I've been working on every aspect of this service all alone. tech support, new design, etc. were all done by me and myself alone. I've even changed the service from ad-supported to ad-free just to satisfy the users.

With all the other projects I have going on and school work (for those who don't know, this year I'm getting into college and things are getting even tighter on my hands), recently many times I just can't find the time to answer e-mails.. well that was the main reason I had the tech support forum up in my site, so that other users maybe could help them.

Then people start to complain about not getting the tech support they need. Considering agum.com costs you nothing and it doesn't even force advertisement, it's hard enough to keep up the service.

Those are not the only reasons. Recently my webhost has decided to suspend many of the CGI scripts I have on my server for excessive cpu usage. Ok, I don't have a dedicated server, but without even ad banners there is no way I can afford a d.server for the service.

I guess my only option is to close the service all together then. Thanks to all of you who supported me all this time. Well, probably not many of you like my service anymore.. I know it had a good start, but later on things just went out of their way and it began to go downhill, and now probably many of the agum.com users hate it already.

Any replies to this are welcome.. I'd like to know what do you think, whether it'll be a message of hatred, encouragement, or whatever. I don't think my decision will change though, so if you are going to tell me to go on... save it.

BTW, having left this forum for quite a while... are the old regulars still here? Webdude, maybe?

Really can't blame you for wanting to stop.

Just made it public, if you bother to check out the site. I guess that just means one less competitor for some of you here.
