I'm impressed with the new G5... so impressed that if I had $10,000 to spare, I'd buy one.
While I've always been a PC fan, I'm slowly drifting over to Macs.. *sigh* I never thought I'd say that!

I've grown to love Macs myself. Since I had to use a bunch of old iMacs (pre-lampshade versions) for programming and iBooks for multimedia presentations, I've just grown to appreciate them.
I'd love to get a G5 or a PowerBook myself. Hell, maybe a G4 or even an eMac. Macs are just a different beast than a PC. They both have their pros and cons. It's hard for me on my PC though... I need iTunes. :(

All ermm 9 systems at my house are PCs.. and work I use mac. Right now I'm on a G3 Beige (233mhz) and next to me is the iMAC (1Ghz - 512mb - 17" Wide flat screen). The rest of the systems in this office are PC based, provided to us my Prudential (I'm a stock broker during the day, couchpotato during the night).
I prefer my PC Laptop, however, I'd would switch my Main PC (2.08Ghz, 2GB Ram, 600GB of space, etc) for a G5 in a heartbeat.
And yes, they are a different beast than a PC. But don't diss a PC and don't diss a Mac. Both got their pros and both got their cons.

Take a look at Alienwares new notebook? It's pretty nice, and it has up to 1GB of PC-2700 DDR.

Alienware overcharges like a mother ----er. For the price of one for their desktops you can get 2 of the same thing if you build it yourself.

I own a alienware computer, the Area-51 Preformance, and I'm proud to say I got my moneys worth, or at least I think :D

I would never buy a prebuilt computer. For laptops I like the Powerbook titanium with the 17" screen, or the top of the line alienware laptop. But they cost so damn much ! I'll just stick to my Dell Latitude for now :)
