IE problems, wont open new window etc.

I just recently (started half way through yesterday I think) developed some weird problems when I use my IE. Here are the problems:

-wont open a new window when I select a link nor will it open the link at all (even the link code says target="_blank")
-wont copy and paste anything!
-wont let me change the color or add similies in the forum (think it could be because or targetting? I dont know)

I've tried restarting the computer and that was no help at all. ALSO, when I try to find out which version I have of IE, it is blank in the 'About Internet Explorer', no version, no strength thingy or product ID. PLEASE help! I am going insane I cant use copy and paste and the links.

what's the OS you use?
version of IE?

one thing i will tell you for sure: download MS latest updates, as even IE 6.0 had & has problems :angry2:
That's why i recommend Opera, but that's just another thing :biggrin2:

Repair IE ..

Start > Settings > Control Panel. Double click on "Add/Remove Programs" locate Microsoft Internet Explorer in the link, double click. It will ask if you want to remove or repair, select repair.

Thanks for the help. I am going to run off and try it. I am running on windows 2000, but as I said the version of IE doesnt show :(

By the way, what exactly is Opera? I heard alot about it, but I dont know what it is. :confused:
