I tried to sign up for free web space. I tried 2 or 3 providers. Came up with same problem.

Whatever Website subdomain name I give, I get the message that that name has already been used
up. When I tried to accesss that 'used up domain name' for eg - Vividhanet.[provider].com, I got the message that Name was available, and I could sign up. So when I again gave that name in the sign up page, I got the error message again. Beleive me, I tried a lot of combinations, some of them not very likley to be used by anyone else.

The [provider].com is supplied by them. I only give the first part - Vividha, Vividhanet etc

What is the problem? I just want a subdomain now, I can buy a domain name late. But if these providers require me to purchase a domain name, shouldn't they say so. Happened with 4 different
providers.

Or am I doing some thing wrong? Please help
