SB Live and VIA Chipsets

My mobo is a Gigabyte GA-7VKML with a VIA KM266 AGPset chipset, would an SB Live cause any conflict, say, random rebooting?

Highly unlikely.

Static/popping, sure, perhaps the sound card might not even work at all, but it's most likely not going to cause your PC to reboot.

hmm.. what else could cause the problem..

it only reboots when i try logging in when it first boots up, if i leave it for 5-6mins, then login, its fine
