Can anyone offer me this cheap, like $5 bucks a month? I would like to pay after one week of service if possible also, just to make sure the server is secure and working properly. Server needs good uptime also.

I seriously doubt that you can get 75GB Data Transfer for as low as $5/Month.

You will probobly need to pay more like 35/Month.

Im curious whats your website?

SSSX

There are 15 of them total, that need just one of these packages.

Ipowerweb.com gives 500 megs and 30 gigs transfer for 10, 8 if you pay for the year at once, but i want somewhere I can pay a few days after i begin service, to make sure security and speed.

That price is too high for those specs. If you could come down to maybe 20 bucks a month, and give me more space (if i'm going to pay 20 bucks i want like 5 gigs space, same bandwidth is fine), i'll do it.

also, for other people offering, cpanel is NOT a must. I would rather have a lower cost than cpanel.

Bizarre-Host

Sorry but we can go any lower.. This is the absolute lowest we can go.

We can up the Space a bit.. 2GB

If you want less Data Transfer we can do that, that would bring the price down!

We do not over sell our servers!!

Any host with those kind of prices is doomed to die soon. You need to pay more for those specs. The host WONT make money.

No offense mate, but are you crazy? ;) You simply won't find a host that can offer that for $5/month, and if you do, I'd like to see them make it a year. Bandwidth costs money, and at .6 a GB, you won't find that anywhere as it costs more than that from any DC. (The lowest DCs such as RS are even about .17 GB+ and that is when you buy in bulk.) There is no such thing as a non profit host ;)

Not true D MaN :D

We have never turned a profit.

Though I know thats not what you mean

anyone?

75 GB of bandwidth at 5 dollars per month would be about 6 cents per GB.

Volume buyers that buy millions of GB of data transfer can't get this price. For anyone to sell to you it would be at a loss. Businesses don't operate for charity. Sorry you can't find what your looking for.. your looking for the impossible.

Peace :D

o sorry, to clarify things up, My bugdet for 10 gigs space / 100 gigs bandwidth is 15-20 bucks a month, reseller panel (NOT for reselling, only to create my accounts, I have 36 domains I may need to host and redirect.

Cpanel is not prefered by me, unless your system is the most secure piece of hardware in the universe, I have experience with cpanel and it's HIGHLY insecure. Ensim Pro I would love to have, I would settle for a recent version of plesk, but I prefer ensim pro.

Thanks

and btw, this is very possible, seeing as some people buy a server from places like rackshack for 99 bucks a month with 120 gig harddrive and 700 GIGS bandwidth. They would still be making quite a killing. Giving up what? 8.3% of their space / 14% of their bandwidth and covering 20% of the cost.

If a host were to buy a $99 server he would be able to sell 7 accounts like the one your asking for and at $20 each that would give him $140, thats $40 proffit. And the host hasnt paid Support, Tax or anything.
So no the host would not make a "killing".
Exept maby killing him self..

actually, since you want to fight me on this. Most hosts don't sell all the same packages and ALL almost NEVER use all there bandwidth and most don't use all their space. So with all those specs, 8.3% space, it may in fact be an average of around 3-5%, which means you might want to double or triple your esimate of 140. Trust me, things don't work out like what you expected, you were estimating WAY below the minimum.

awayfromforum
September 6th, 2003, 09:56
SSSX, its just a fact that hosts never price their packages that low, and probably wont sell it for you that low.

They have to pay tax over their money they get, then they CANT oversell, if they do i would sure not go for them, it would be just plain crazy.

I know that most clients dont use all their Space, but overselling is kind of a risky business... Most hosts wont do that.

Seems like you want your host to be overselling his servers :confused2

SSSX
September 6th, 2003, 11:16
no, but it's to be expected. I know that most people will oversell until they see it more profitable to get another server, at which time they go for it. Most people oversell, and when they see the space is getting close to out they will get an extra harddrive or server. It's the profitable way.

I see my offer at 20 bucks a month for 8% of someones server as a very reasonable offer. Your opinions, you are really ripping people off.

Loon
September 6th, 2003, 12:11
The cost of the server itself is just one of many costs.

People are trying to explain that what you're asking for is unrealistic, they are not making it up in the hope that you'll suddenly come up with more money so they can "rip you off"

You will not find anybody offering the amount of resources you want within the budget you gave.

Just out of interest (perhaps i overlooked it) but what's your site about? any website that generates enough traffic to need 100GB transfer a month should be able to generate a decent amount of money in advertising, a great deal more than $10 - $15 a month.

* edit, i looked over the post again, you have 15 sites?

Even if you could only manage to get $1 a week from each site through placing ads, that's still $60+ a month which is a far more realistic budget for 100GB transfer.

Hosting businesses generally aren't out to give special good deals.

They are businesses in it for profit. The more profit, the better. :D

Generally for a good host, expect to pay about 80 cents per GB of data transfer to get good rock solid stability.

Also your asking for a reseller account so thats an extra charge.

I hope you see where I'm going with this and good luck.

lol, doesn't seem too special man, it's over twice what I can afford and what I believe is a reasonable range, your price looks like your making way too much cash.

Why don't you try EBay to find your host. Of course you may have to switch hosts every 2 months as those companies tend to not last too long, but at least it would be in your price range.

Canceled because only got 1 database per domain. That was on ensim because orignally my impression was that he had one large site, and not 36 of them.

I would still like to know the url's of some of the sites.
