I'm wondering if there's an affiliate service out there that will host email at mydomain.com, and those who wish to use xyz@mydomain.com would be charged a fee by the host and a finder's fee given back to mydomain.com.

For example, someone signs up at mydomain.com to use the email address bonnie@mydomain.com. Let's say the cost is $10/month. As the referrer to creating the email account, mydomain.com would receive a percentage, say 40%, of that amount.

You can't, you need to change your Domain's MX record to Another Host like Distanthost.com

In theory its possible to do that but, I don't know of any programs that do anything like what your asking.

With all the free email services out there now, its kind of hard to see that working.

I could be wrong though, Google is your friend. :D

It appears that Entergroup (http://www.entergroup.com/paymail/features.fegml) offers this ability, but at a setup fee of $250.

Has anyone dealt with Entergroup before? Are they any good? Will they waive the setup fee?

Has anyone run across anything similar?

I don't follow, how is this different than http://www.everyone.net ?

I just visited, they seem to offer $10 per sign up. Or there is the Ad-Sponsored solution.

http://www.everyone.net/mailplus.html

Thanks Canuckkev, I'll check into it.

BTW, are you or anyone else familiar with Everyone.net's MailPlus program? Are they reliable? Anything to be leary of?
