hi. i'm trying to help my brother with his webpage. he makes clay-mation movies that he wants to put online. last week we registered this (http://spokiedude.topcities.com) but i think the files are too big to upload. I've been trying to FTP the 4 movies for 2 hours now and it's only 66% done. each movie is less than a minute long, and we're on a cable modem.
i have a strong feeling it won't work.
can anyone suggest a different free host? we need as much memory and bandwith as possible, and FTP. any suggestions?

Uhh, MATRIX, that link has 0% to do with what he's requesting, besides a long list of webhosts that wouldn't allow it.
On topic - how big are the files? Chances are no free host would allow.
How about hosting your own server and putting the downloads on there? You do have cable...

(psst, i'm a she, not a he)
i wouldn't even know where to start with my own server...i'd rather just have it hosted somewhere.
i'm not sure about the file size, but i know they're too big to upload at topcities.
also, we can save the files in a myriad of ways, what format of movies takes up the least space?

hiya :)
hmmm i'm looking for space too ... but this looks promising ...
apparently if u sign up with http://spaceports.com/ you initially start off with 20mb's and they do allow movies as long as you fax them proof of ownership (explained in their support section under "faq") and after you have filled that 20mbs ... you can go onto request more space :)
check it out and let us know :)
