What version are you using? I've never seen that before...

I've seen it on people using DeadAIM and I believe (can be wrong) that it means that the person can use SecureIM.

I think it's newest version. I saw that lock beside many of my friends' names.
Secure IM? I don't think my friends will do that. (though I don't even know what it is.)

What's the current version? I'm currently running AIM 4.3x, but I think it may be a bit outdated now.
Maybe they have some new feature sor something... I dunno.

5.2, i think.
None of my friends or cousins know what the lock is, even it's beside their names.

A lock icon displayed in the Buddy ListŪ feature and the instant message window indicates that encrypted messages may be exchanged with that user. Messages sent between AIM 5.2 users are digitally signed and remain encrypted during transmission. Any message tampering is automatically detected and clearly identified.
