People of FWS.net Forums...

Please vote in this poll so I can gather your opinion on dangerous substances is our schools, pools and even hospitals.

People, I am asking you to ban dihyrdrogen monoxide.

This substance is the cause of all drownings, is highly corrosive, and is a major part of acid rain.

So where ever you are, please discourage the use of any form of dihydrogen monoxide

I just wanna see who votes for banning it!

The last time I checked, water wasn't all that corrosive at all.

You know, if you inhale it, you'll die within 7 minutes.

I voted "Yes" just for the hell of it.

Coolin, it is, if you look at the world in vast periods of time.

I guess water can erode things... but it doesn't corrode them.

Here's another deadly attribute of dihydrogen monoxide: in its purest form, consuming this substance will cause your cells to explode.

for those who have no clue what we're talking about :p

I'd say that its corrosive in water only because the chemical would behaves like an acid. doesn't look like that prettiest chemical in the world so i'll put down a yes for it to be banned.

Why would you want water to be banned?

Water is corrosive in water? :confused:

lethal to humans in quantities as small as a thimbleful

Hmm...maybe if it's injected or something...?

inhaled, probably.

yeah, inhaled. by a baby, probably.

...or if you swallow no more than that for many days.

Injected or inhaled, both are lethal.

Gayowulf

injecting air would be lethal, but how would water be?

I can see in huge amounts, but a few ccs?

me and my bad english, i was meaning that the dihyrogen monoxide acts like a acid in water, not the water. sorry that mistake.

I think you're missing the point

Dihydrogen Monoxide IS water.

lol. how gullible are people these days.
Dihydrogen Monoxide is plain h2o. It's not like somebody once drank water and died.
ROTFLMAO

Water wont kill you.

i hang my scienifitic head in shame. i was thinking of something completely different. i was thinking it was thinking something completely different. :o

It could however...

Fuzzy, I'll break it down for you:

Di = 2
Hydrogen = hydrogen
Mon = 1
Oxide = oxygen

Essentially, h2o. Water is 2 part hydrogen, 1 part oxygen.

haha..this is funny.

last year, my chemistry teacher handed this fact sheet saying we all should ban 'Dihydrogen Monoxide'.. and after reading out this, she asked:"So how many of you think we should really band the use of Dihydrogen Monoxide, please put up your hand." And yes, everyone in the class put up their hands!!

so yeah.. people ARE gullible these days.:rolleyes:

I don't see what Demigod is talking about. I think he's underestimating the general intelligence level of these boards.

Other than some slight fuzzy logic going on in FuzzyLogic's part, no one posting on the thread had any doubt as to what dihydrogen monoxide truly is.

Most of the votes for "Yes" were in jest and for humourous purposes only.

I wasnt calling anybody on this forum stupid. You guys are far from it. I was meaning people in general, not specifically this forum. Some people will fall for it, like DJsexie explained.

its quite a good joke really, its because noone really knows the chemical formula of water. i just looked at the monoxide bit and thought of it was something like carbon monoxide, not thinking it was a single oxygen. if i had just thought about it i would of laughed at it, not feeling quite the fool i do now. :o
