God hates me...

My main monitor, 17" Sony Trinitron Flat, died today after a year of use. It lasted me through winter, spring and summer, numerous LAN parties and a ---- load of other stuff. RIP. :(

Now I'm stuck using this peice of ---- 15" TVM As5s monitor that can only display 1024x768 @ 60hz and to top that, it caused problems with my system as I had a refresh rate fix in place to keep windows from switching refresh rates to 60hz while in D3D mode. Had to reformat.

Reformat keeps ----ing up/restarting/rebooting. Ended up being a bad memory stick aswell...Go figure.

And I think the BIOS is corrupt aswell, everytime I enter the BIOS, colours are weird, some of the letters are missing, there's blank spaces everywhere. :rolleyes:

My computer just gave me a BSOD in Windows and now the damn thing won't post. Great...

I'm going to order my new parts next week. Argh.

Sucks to be you... heh. Earlier today I decided to format my PC and reinstall XP. Which I did. But when XP would start, the ethernet, video, sound and raid card drivers were missing. Last time I installed XP , they all got detected. So I figured maybe something went wrong and re-installed XP again. And again, still missing drivers. So I tried a different XP said and still missing drivers. Than I remember that I just had upgraded my computer a month ago and these are all new parts. Popped in the motherboard cd drivers and it was all good. grr

Well that is not as bad, as having a dedicated server crash on you that you just got to host some more people.

yeah, that totally ruined my day, another day or so it will be fixed, but i got a huge bill to pay then.

aren't drivers fun, i had to get drivers from a friend of mine to get my sound to work. only problem now is that i have s**t speakers with no amp so the sounds barely audible. perphaps a better name for the thread would be 'lets ----- about now computers can really annoy us :D '.

what If you fell asleep at the wheel of your car and crashed it?

what about if it was 150 km from your home?

what about if you had to hitch-hike to the nearest town (~50 km) only to be dropped off at a gas station with no phone.

what about if you had to walk 2 k on a highway median (with a big bag of ----) to the next place with a phone only to find it vandalized?

what about if once you managed to find a phone none of your friends or family was available to pick you up so you had to hich-hike 100 km home.

what if $5000 of damage was done to your car that was worth $3500 and said damage was not covered by insurance?

what if this all happened in a few hours?

would you be pissed about your piece of ---- computer?

what about if in the same day you learned you may no longer be able to attend your college, and your landlord decides to rent the room you put a deposit on to someone else.

what about if your job depends on your having a car?

how about if a week later you dislocate your shoulder for the third time, and learn that you need surgery on it because its quite ----ed up.

how about if you just typed all this with your left hand? how would you feel then?

Personally I feel like starting an emo band and then maybe starting a blog to share my sorrow with the rest of the world.

(I just thought i'd show you all that your situation isn't that bad. you may have a ----ty computer, but at least you have use of your dominant arm. I have a ----ty computer and ctrl+alt+del is hard with one hand.
